>goodbye winter, hello humidity!

>I’m off to Jakarta tomorrow morning for winter break. I’ve been looking forward to this much needed break where I can hibernate and relax. The two weeks will be about pampering myself (do I hear spas, massages, facials, pedicures?) and just enjoying time back home with family and friends. And of course, there’s the engagement party I’m going to attend the first weekend back.

Speaking of engagement parties, I went shopping to Canberra’s factory outlet yesterday and found a whole lot of goodies!!!I couldn’t believe the prices in some of the stuff and had to really control myself cause I’m bound to get something while in Jakarta as well.

When watching Brazil vs. Portugal match last Friday night (I’m all for Portugal yay!), I was doing the necklace I showed you in the previous post. Here’s a peek at my creative table,

I’ve also been playing around with this blog, I’m going to add 2 pages titled ‘commissioned works’ and ‘past creations’, things I’ve created in the past that has found its way to cosy, loving homes ๐Ÿ™‚ I’d probably create another page for the ones that’re still looking for the perfect home as well, so keep an eye out!

Before I leave (have plenty of cleaning, laundry and packing to do today!), I’m going to try and catch up with the growing new posts on my list since I probably won’t have a lot of time to do so during the break. Will update you soon (when internet allows me a speedy connection)! Meanwhile, check out Aglaia’s fan page, and if you haven’t ‘liked’ it yet, would be a real thrill for me if you can!^__^

A bientot!

>because putting on a pretty dress matters

>Officially done for the semester. despite my frustration for that one last exam, I was excited that it’s finally semester break and I can get on with all the commissioned works I’ve been putting on hold.

Got a parcel of goodies yesterday, and me being a girlie girl at heart, tried everything on and twirled around the room. What better way to make yourself feel better, than to dress yourself with yummy tops and dresses ’til you smile from ear to ear?

So I did exactly that. I put on a dress, sat in front of my creative table, and started working with some new materials I recently purchased. I was working on one piece in particular that an amazing girl and baker asked me to create, to adorn her on her brother’s wedding. She originally wanted a bib (as I mentioned here), but after some late night gossiping and discussions, we decided a bib necklace isn’t the best type of adornment for her body type.

The necklace is done, and I am super happy with the end result. I’m a bit upset though, that my camera refuses to capture the true beauty, sparkle and all the intricate details of the necklace, so I’m going to work on taking some more shots before I show it to her (and you!). Here’s a sneak peek…

I thoroughly enjoyed the whole process, and putting on a pretty dress adds a little magic to your creativity! I felt like I saw things more clearly, all the beads, pearls, chains, ribbons were so much more beautiful in my eyes. And all that, because of putting on a pretty dress!

Thus I will leave you with a tip: if you’re ever feeling blue, or it seems like you’re stuck in a rut (whatever rut it is!), putting on a little make-up, a cute top, dress or gorgeous shoes will instantly lift your spirit up and allow you to see the world from a brighter, prettier angle.

>Fairy Dust Me

>Trying out a new look for the blog. What say you?

Last day in the library before my last final exam tomorrow morning. Look who’s decided to pay me a visit and sprinkle some of her fairy dust for good luck!

it’s Tinkerbell! ๐Ÿ™‚

Whilst she told me she quite like her new home, she’s quite dissapointed with the way her pictures turned out here. If only she can be snapped with an SLR camera ๐Ÿ˜›

>The Shop is Up!

>I’ve finally managed to upload a couple of pictures from the latest hula hoopy, chupa chuppy, round and round inspired theme!

The Carnival Collection is available for sale, and you can view them from this blog, or from Aglaia’s Facebook Page. I didn’t post the price cause I’m still trying to figure out whether it’ll be better to post the price or have you (my future, loyal customers :P) email me to inquire instead.

Oh, and there’s only ONE piece available for every item ๐Ÿ™‚ I only create 1-2 pieces for everything because it always makes it more special if you know that you are the only one (or two, in some cases) that owns this particular creation (it also avoids the risk of being caught wearing the same thing with someone else, how horrible  is that right?)

Anyways, feel free to roam around the Facebook Page cause it actually has all the pieces I’ve done in the past. And if they’re still available, they’re up for grabs as well ๐Ÿ™‚

I really really hope you enjoy the Carnival Collection!

>I want that black diamond please!

>had a super long day yesterday, and the most stressful Saturday I’ve experienced!had to wake up at 6AM to do a little bit of review for my morning exam, wrote till my pinky hurts for 3 hours, sprint back home to swallow some lunch (yes, swallow, not chew cause I didn’t the luxury people refer to as TIME), flip textbook for second exam back and  forth without really reading anything, went to second exam, panicked in the last 15 minutes of the 3 hours exam, then when I thought I was finally done with the hard stuff, the lecturer from the 2nd exam decided it was the best time to post results from our last assignment and BOY WERE THEY HORRIBLE MARKS!!! When I say horrible, I mean the average was so low it was unexpected.

hard stuff that requires a lot of brain power’s done, it was time to commence the fun, de-stressing night! the night started with dinner with the guys, watched SamSantoEd and laughed at whatever happened in the previous day’s football matches, then met my girlfriend for SATC2!!!^^ we’ve been planning to go for the past month (before the premiere I kid you not), but of course reality made us postpone this much awaited movie for 3 weeks (reality=exams).

I thoroughly enjoyed and loved the movie, although I’d like to point out some things *warning: this may or may not be a spoiler*
1. Abu Dhabi is NOT the future as far as I remember. Been there twice and aside from the beautiful mosque and Emirates Palace (that in order for you to get in, everyone must spend AED100 each!) there’s practically nothing but desert and construction (although some of the things under construction was jaw dropping cool). Perhaps in the next 15-20 years, when Dubai has become overcrowded and too expensive, will Abu Dhabi get the title of ‘the future’?
2. In the Souq, Carrie was totally ripped off by the shoe guy lol I couldnt stop laughing when she thought it was cheap!Souqs are basically markets, so in markets you BARGAIN. And frankly speaking, dressed like that, she’s asking to be ripped off!
3. Who, and I will ask again, WHO, wears stilletos inside their own apartments/house?anyone?please let me know i’m curious!
4. Can someone please tell me if your bf/husband/fiance/partner would give you that super gorgeous sparkly black diamond, after what Carrie did????oh hollywood, you’re really gonna mess some women’s head for sure!

All in all, it was a really fun movie and it made me miss Dubai. really. very. much. So, I’m going to leave you with a few decent pics from my Dubai days ๐Ÿ™‚
