>busy, busy week ahead. yes, it’s that time of the semester (again) where exams and assignments are waiting for me with open arms, all around the same time.
I thought I’d squeeze in a little ‘hello’ to all of you, and let you know that despite the amount of uni work I have to do, I still managed to sit on my creative table and work my way towards happiness and serenity that I can find while twisting and turning wires, mixing and matching different kinds of gems and turn them into the pretty things we call jewellery.
Unfortunately, my commitment with photographing and properly editing the photos has been lacking BIG time (yes, I’m lazy to take photos cause I really really want to part ways with my camera, but haven’t found the time (and money) to get myself a cooler DSLR).
This morning as I sip my morning coffee, I decided to edit at least one jewellery that I’ve photographed last week. This one came out of nowhere really, I think I was sitting on my ‘study’ table (aka dining table) and had one of those moments where I thought I could turn this and that into one funky piece.
while twisting the wire for this piece, I instantly thought *and hummed* ‘the wheels on the bus’ as I went round and round…
“the wheels on the bus goes round and round,
round and round,
round and round.
the wheels on the bus goes round and round,
all through town”
on the same day I made it, I started wearing this necklace. I just love the fact that such a simple necklace can look chic and different at the same time
and as usual, I would not leave you without a closer look on the focal point (and missed a chance to see the different hues of the off-black glass beads!)
materials: glass beads, gold seed beads, resin beads
Enjoy the weekend with lots of smiles and laughter!
>you didn’t think that my newfound love for embellished bangles stop with just the one, did you?
here’s the second bangle I made. I was actually happy with the plain dark green bangle, but curiosity got the best of me and I started rummaging through my pile of supplies of semi-precious stones and other pretty, sparkly things. I found the green semi-precious agate and thought it would compliment the dark green of the ribbon (but of course it needed MORE). So, like any other curious jewellers out there, I ventured to the nearest craft shop to find me some of these amazing yellow and gold rhinestones (the remaining goodies was sitting patiently on my creative table waiting to be made into one with the bangle). Here’s a close-up look of the jeweled goodness,
I swear when I get my DSLR (and properly use all of their functions, which I’m starting to learn off youtube right now), I’m gonna be able to get more gorgeous pics of my creations. But until then, my old and not-so-trusty-no-more point and shooter will have to do all the work.
I hope I’ve bejeweled your Friday 🙂
>I’ve been obsessively playing glee songs. They sound absolutely amazing!
This one is dedicated to my dearest who inspired me to finish this bangle. I was wrapping the soft velvety ribbon around the bangle when, 3 wraps away from finishing it, I ran out of ribbon!
I left the unfinished bangle for a couple of weeks, toying around with ideas, but nothing seems right in my heart
and that’s when a simple comment of “why don’t you jewel it up?” woke me up from my slumber. I am in love with the result, the whole velvet+golden jewels combo is a winner in my heart.
“Once upon a time I was falling in love
But now I’m only falling apart
A total eclipse of the heart
Once upon a time there was light in my life
But now there’s only love in the dark
A total eclipse of the heart”
>I have a very important meeting this morning and I’m such a nerve wreck! Was sorting a lot of things yesterday afternoon and only finished late in the evening. My lips are still sealed for the moment, I just need the sun, stars and the moon to shower me with good luck.
On another, happier note, here’s the end result of the bib necklace (I finally finished it, took pictures and edited hooray!) Would love to know what you think…(and I hope you love it as much as I do :))
“believe you will succeed, and then SUCCEED”
>This is a show about my life,
and I am its puppeteer, given the gift of twisting and turning this life into whatever form I please,
Although I always have the option to simply lay out my life in a nice, predictable and easy route that may please most people,
I seem to have a special interest and knack in turning it into a jumble of mess and confusion instead,
Welcome to my life, I urge you to sit back and enjoy the show.
>as I have a super tight schedule this week and have some life-changing decisions that has been waiting for me to tackle. I hope all of you will enjoy the first week of August, live life with no regrets, love like only you know how, and laugh until it hurts 🙂
