>Long Live Giveaway!

>I mentioned that I was thinking of doing a giveaway sometime soon, and that time my friend, has finally arrived at your doorstep (or PC/laptop screen to be more precise).

I’ve waited a while to do this giveaway as I’ve been working to get several things going in terms of my passionate love affair with jewellery making. As you may have noticed, I’ve changed my blog layout once more. I’ve been anxiously waiting for this change, and has been working with a dear friend to create the ‘aglaia’ logo. After several months and loads of terrorizing friends and families, we have come up with this logo that’s now sitting prettily as a banner for the blog 🙂

I’m happy with the current layout; it’s fresh, clean and simple. What say you?

Anywho, I thought I’ll let you know why this is the right time for me to do a giveaway:
1. to celebrate the birth of Aglaia. I feel like the brand can really move forward now that we have the logo all sorted out.
2. to celebrate the opening of the World of Aglaia on etsy and madeit.com.au. Why name it World of Aglaia? for the simple reason that you can find all of our creations in one shop, this shop is Aglaia’s world.
3. to celebrate all of you readers who’s been with me and have taken these baby steps with me towards a better, prettier, sparklier future.
4. to celebrate my upcoming 25th birthday *I thought I should. You only turn a quarter century young once!*

All in all, it’s about celebrating life, friends, families, loved ones and our passions.

What am I giving away? this is actually quite difficult for me to choose. You should probably’ve guessed by now that it’ll be a jewellery of some sort 😛 the thing is, I don’t know what I should give since some people may prefer one type of jewellery more than others. So, I’ve decided to give you 3 options to choose from:

1. the pupeeter |long necklace|
an extra long necklace with wooden beads that resembles honeycombs. Love this necklace for its versatility; wear it alone, layered, even as a bracelet!
2. crystal droplets |earrings|
as listed on my etsy shop, this little darlings are made of green czech crystals and will sparkle day and night!

3. the black widow |ring|
one of my favourite statement ring, made from resin and Japanese glass beads. It’s one head turning piece of jewellery to add to your collection.

What do you have to do to enter?
1. follow on google connect or bloglovin’
2. leave a comment with your giveaway preference, your blog url and whether you’re following through google or bloglovin’
and THAT’S IT! Anyone can enter (open for international followers as well) and I won’t force you to tweet/blog about it for extra points. The giveaway is open until Saturday, 30th October 2010.
Have an excellent mid-week!

PS: since I don’t do outfit posts, this is the time to scrutinise my attempts haha

>random burst of inspiration

>Been busy with last minute assignments and quizzes, cut my finger several times while aggressively cutting wires to secure this,

Random inspiration while watching TV,

I love rings, especially big, bold eye-catching ones. What better way to accesorize your feminine fingers than to wear a 6- stack edgy chain ring?:)

>my old treasure is your new treasure

>I don’t agree with the saying ‘one woman’s trash is another woman’s treasure’. That trash must’ve been a treasure when she bought it (why would she bought it otherwise?), and just because she doesn’t like/want it anymore, it doesn’t become trash.

So, one sunny Friday afternoon, I opened my closet to look for things to wear,

I stood there for about 5 minutes, head tilted to the right, thinking that I don’t have anything to wear. How is it possible that a lot of women thinks she doesn’t have anything to wear when there’s a closet full of clothes in almost every possible style, colour, materials?

And that’s when it hit me. I do have things to wear, but I don’t want to wear them anymore. So I quickly dissect my closet, sorting out shirts, skirts, sweaters, dresses that I haven’t worn ever since I landed in Canberra *almost 10 months now* and made my mind up that I will be a smart girl and share the love. Yep, I am going to do it. I’m posting them on ebay so these pretties can go to a better home, a home that will love them now as much as I loved them then. My old treasure will become your new treasure.

All that’s left for me to say is; go to the listing, spread the love, share the love 🙂
